Karim Daaboul
Economic Modelling • Financial Analysis • Data Systems

I build the analysis, and the systems behind it.

Economic-impact models, financial-centre research, and the pipelines that keep them current. I rebuilt the Qatar Financial Centre's economic-impact model to within 0.01% of the published result, then automated it end to end.

What I Do

I work at the intersection of financial analysis and the systems that produce it. At the Qatar Financial Centre I reconstructed and validated economic-impact methodology, analysed financial-centre competitiveness, and built the platforms that turned scattered public data into something you could actually query.

My background is finance and economics, but I don't stop at the spreadsheet. I build the ingestion, extraction and modelling pipelines behind the analysis — which means I can take a methodology from a PDF to a working, repeatable system rather than a one-off deliverable.

Work Experience

Special Projects Intern — Business Intelligence

Qatar Financial Centre (QFC)Doha, Qatar

Jun 2026 – Present

  • Designed and built (Next.js, Supabase, Vercel) a Financial Centres Intelligence Platform consolidating 18,000+ corporate entities and regulatory/fund data across QFC/QFCRA, DIFC/DFSA and ADGM/FSRA
  • Reconstructed and validated QFC's 2024 Economic Impact Assessment, reproducing company-level GVA within 0.01% of the published result and employment within 1.2%
  • Built GFCI competitiveness intelligence across seven GCC centres, analysing published rankings and 133 instrumental factors
  • Engineered automated data pipelines with scheduled ingestion, normalization, historical backfills, reconciliation and source-health monitoring

AI Automation & Solutions Consultant (Project-Based)

First Marble and GraniteDoha, Qatar

Jun 2025 – Jun 2026

  • Built LLM workflows, internal chatbots, and automations for inquiry/quote intake, document parsing, routing, and ops support
  • Implemented guardrails: prompt standards, logging, and human-in-the-loop review
  • Enabled adoption with documentation + training for non-technical teams

Systems I've Built

Analytical platforms and production systems, built with guardrails and failure handling

Qatar Financial Centre

Financial Centres Intelligence Platform

18,000+ entities across three financial centres, normalized into one comparable dataset.

Goal

Make the company populations of QFC, DIFC and ADGM directly comparable, so questions about who actually operates in each centre can be answered from data rather than assembled by hand.

Constraints

Three registries with incompatible schemas and terminology

Guardrails

Raw source data preserved unmodified for audit, Normalized taxonomy applied as a separate layer, never destructively

Qatar Financial Centre

Economic Impact Assessment Platform

Financial statements in, validated GVA and employment estimates out.

Goal

Turn a consultant-delivered economic-impact methodology into a system the organisation can run itself, with assumptions it can inspect and change.

Constraints

Statements arrive as unstructured PDFs with no consistent layout

Guardrails

Extracted fields validated against expected schema before entering the model, Reconciliation step for duplicates, missing records and reporting-year mismatches

AI Inquiry-to-Quote Workflow
First Marble and Granite

AI Inquiry-to-Quote Workflow

Automated email + attachment intake into structured quote-ready data.

Goal

Automate inquiry processing to reduce manual work and standardize quote intake.

Constraints

Must handle unstructured emails and various attachment formats

Guardrails

JSON schema validation for all extracted fields, Confidence thresholds trigger human review

Pipeline Example

Interactive walkthrough of a document-to-decision pipeline with validation and human review

📚 How to use this demo:

  • Auto Mode: Watch the pipeline run automatically with 4-5 second pauses between steps
  • Step-by-Step Mode: Click through each step manually at your own pace (recommended for learning)
